Statistics from the annual Long-Term Disability Claims Review released by the Council for Disability Awareness reveals the continued growth of serious disabilities among the US Population.  Over the last ten years, the number of US workers with long-term disabilities has grown four times the growth of workers in the US workforce.

This trend coupled to the current economic downturn has made a disability case manager’s job much harder.  The changing landscape may also result in inconsistent reserving and gaps in claim handling due to overburdened Case Managers having less time to focus on the medical aspects of their claims.  BMEGateway has developed the following unique cutting edge programs to assist our customers in confronting these important issues.

Ø      Peer Review  Our comprehensive review programs include peer to peer analysis, medical records, and diagnostic study reviews.  Our physicians are available to contact treating providers in order to discuss treatment.  Our panel is made up of diversified medical professionals and supported by our advanced technology and experienced claim staff

Ø      Independent Medical Evaluations (IME's) Our network of physicians is comprised of Board-Certified licensed and actively practicing physicians that range from all different specialties.  They are affiliated with the top teaching institutions and hospitals through out the United States.  They are able to testify if needed and make credible expert witnesses.  our panel is made up of diversified medical professionals and supported by our advanced technology and experienced claim staff.

Ø  Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE's) Our functional capacity evaluations provide a valuable tool that assesses an employee's current level of physical functionality and compared that to their occupational demands.  This provides objective evidence when combined with an IME and helps to develop a cohesive return to work plan.

Ø       Transferable Skills Analysis (TSA's) Our transferable skills analysis is conducted by certified rehabilitation counselors (CRC) to determine the viability for transition to alternate occupations.  They engage the attending physician in return to work development and provide a comprehensive review for employability assessment.

Ø      Pharmaceutical Diagnostic Analysis (PDA's) Our pharmaceutical diagnostic analysis provide real time access to clinical information.  The PDA can discover undisclosed doctors and prescriptions that may not be volunteered by the employee.

Ø      Pharmacology Review  Our pharmacology review is an evidenced based assessment of appropriate pharmacology management.  It is a tool that helps combat the rising costs in pain management and over use of prescriptions.
